Das Fachgebiet für Strömungsmechanik freut sich bekannt zu geben, dass der nächste OpenFOAM® Stammtisch United an der Universität Kassel stattfinden wird. Der Stammtisch dient als informelles Anwendertreffen und soll damit eine Plattform zur Vernetzung und zum Austausch bieten.

Die Veranstaltung wird am 20. und 21. Februar stattfinden. Der erste Tag besteht aus einer Vortragsserie mit Diskussionsrunden. Die Teilnehmerinnen und Teilnehmer sind aufgefordert, durch eigene Vortragsbeiträge an der Gestaltung mitzuwirken (ca. 20-25 Minuten inkl. Diskussion). Der zweite Tag dient der praktischen Anwendung und soll sowohl Anfängerinnen und Anfängern als auch fortgeschrittenen Anwenderinnen und Anwendern die Möglichkeit bieten, ihr Wissen zu vertiefen. Interessierte Studierende sind somit insbesondere aufgefordert, sich anzumelden. Den vorläufigen Ablauf können Sie der folgenden Agenda entnehmen. Computerräume werden am zweiten Tag bereitgestellt, wir möchten Sie jedoch motivieren, ein Notebook und ihre eigenen Anwendungen mitzubringen.

Die Teilnahme ist an beiden Tagen kostenlos, eine Anmeldung ist aber erforderlich, da die Sitzplätze limitiert sind. Für weitere Fragen und zur Anmeldung wenden Sie sich bitte an unser Organisationsteam. Auf dem selben Weg bitten wir Sie, Vortragsvorschläge einzureichen.

OpenFOAM Stammtisch United 2017


The IfM's Department of Fluid Dynamics is pleased to announce that the next OpenFOAM User Meeting Stammtisch United will be held at Kassel University. The user meeting serves as an informal meeting of users and other parties interested in the technology intending to provide a platform for mutual exchange.

The event will be held on February 20 and 21, 2017 with the first day resembling a mini-conference featuring technical presentations with discussions in the end. Participants are kindly asked to contribute to the meeting's content by submitting proposals for presentations for a time frame of about 20-25 minutes (incl. discussion). Day 2 focuses in the practical use of the technology and shall serve beginners as well as advanced users for enhancing their knowledge and horizon in the use of the OpenFOAM technology. Interested students are therefore particularly encouraged to register. The provisional schedule is available at the given link. Computer labs will be available though we'd like to motivate you to bring your own laptops including own solvers/cases/problems along. A clinics session as well as a special interest group session for discussing future projects will be held, too.

Participation is free of charge for both days. Registration is mandatory though given the limited number of seats. In case of further questions, please do not hesitate to contact the organization staff. Please submit your proposal for contribution via the same means. We accept registrations until January 13, 2017.
