It is our pleasure to announce the upcoming release of the foam-extend-3.3 code. It should be released in conjunction with the 11th OpenFOAM workshop in Guimarăes, and included on the workshop USB-stick. Following the spirit of a true open source effort, we invite the community to contribute with new features and bug fixes.

The deadline for contributions to the foam-extend-3.3 release is very soon – 28 April. If you decide to contribute your code later than April 28th, no worries, your contribution will simply make its way into the next release, that’s all.

The procedure for contributors can be found at:

https://sourceforge.net/p/openfoam-e...wToContribute/

The foam-extend administrators.

Dear Pablo,

I will try to answer your questions to the best of my ability. First of all the new foam-extend version will be 4.0 instead of 3.3 (due to an updated I/O format which will affect users). The code is currently in a pre-release state. It already has passed test loops on several platforms but it is still missing some code that is intended to be part of this release. The estimate is that it will be another 1-2 months before the official release will be ready. You're always welcome to test the code, you'll be able to find it at https://sourceforge.net/p/foam-exten...i/master/tree/ in the nextRelease branch. Any bugs or issues you might find can be reported at https://sourceforge.net/p/openfoam-e...extendrelease/

Best regards,

Tom
