Where is the Source Code? is a campaign that promotes free, public distribution of OpenFOAM and software that links intimately to OpenFOAM. It is in response to a general dissatisfaction with the practice of making a modification to OpenFOAM, promoting the benefits of the modification, but not making that modification freely available to the public.
The idea is simple. When modifications like this are promoted, people should simply ask "Where is the Source Code?" The question can be asked after a presentation, for example, or in a response to a discussion on the Internet. On the Internet, if you use the hyperlink Where is the Source Code?, it raises awareness for the campaign. There is a campaign on Twitter using the hashtag #WhereIsTheSourceCode which has generated a lot of interest. Please add your support. |
