Hi all,

I have developed a Richards equation solver on OpenFOAM. The solver has a name of "suGWFoam", which stands for "saturated-unsaturated groundwater flow solver using OpenFOAM".

I wrote the solver because I want to solve groundwater flows and its interaction with surface water, such as river and coastal flows. But I tried to make it more general. It is essentially a Richards equation solver.

The nice thing about OpenFOAM is that you can easily couple suGWFoam with other solvers. This is sometime not necessarily an easy task for other porous media code.

The code and test cases can be downloaded from my website.

I have a technical report explaining some of things in the code. It can also be downloaded from my website. The report was based on a journal manuscript under review.

Enjoy!

Hi liu,
I am interested in using suGWFoam, but lately when I am trying to compile in OFv1712, it's throwing so many errors. Kindly help me with the following error:

#
suGWFoam.C: In function ‘int main(int, char**)’:
suGWFoam.C:137:48: error: passing ‘const Foam::GeometricField<double, Foam::fvPatchField, Foam::volMesh>::Boundary’ as ‘this’ argument discards qualifiers [-fpermissive]
h_old_tmp.boundaryField().updateCoeffs();
#

Thank you.

Hi liu,

I recently tried to access suGWFoam from your website here: http://water.engr.psu.edu/liu/openFOAM-suGWFoam.html, but I'm getting 404 error codes for the code, test cases, and PDF. Please let me know if there is a different host for suGWFoam that I can access.

Many thanks in advance,

MP
