ESI OpenCFD Ltd. is pleased to announce the release of OpenFOAM-v2106.

The version released in June 2021 brings a lot of exciting new functionality and extension to the existing ones. Let us, among others, highlight a few:

Installation:

• Precompiled packages for Ubuntu, Suse and RedHat
• Docker - New and easy script, options to install "bare bones" executable or everything
• Other installation options as source compilation on Linux and Mac, cross-compiled executables for Windows are also available

Pre-processing:

• Improved snappyHexMesh gap refinement
• Improved splitMeshRegions utility
• Improved checkMesh writing of surface fields

Numerics:

• Improved performance of new AMI area reconstruction calculation

Solvers & physical models:

• New overset solvers
• Improved icoReactingMultiphaseInterFoam solver - includes dynamic mesh
• New solar load model
• New turbulence field estimation
• Improved finite area parallel support

Post-processing:

• New multiFieldValue function object
• Improved momentumError function object
• New Reynolds and Nuselt number cloud function object
• Improved Dynamic Mode Decomposition (DMD) tools
