Hi all,

Until recently I was managing to use meshes created in OF 7 (blockMesh + snappy) in Code_Saturne (version 7), using the foamMeshToMED utility compiled for OF 4, but working for OF 7. Due to difficulties, and wanting to take advantage of the possibilities of the com version, I switched from OF 7 to OF 1812 and later (specifically, because I wanted to use the displacementMotionSolver algorithm for addLayers, only available in the com version). But doing this, the foamMeshToMED utility gives me problems (specifically, topology problems that arise during the CS run, whereas with checkMesh I don't get any errors). The specific question is if you know of any tool to go from an OF mesh to one of the following CS-compatible formats:

.case (Ensight) (I already tried this, and as I see in CS forum, it does not copy the patches)
.ccm (Star-CCM+) (I couldn't export the mesh as .ccm, but with .ccmg, but the latter is not recognized by CS)
.cgns
.des (Simail NOPO)
.med
.msh (Gmsh)
.neu (GAMBIT neutral)
.unv (I-deas universal)

Hello,

I was able to partially resolve it by conveniently choosing which version of OF and which version of foamMeshToMED to use. A GitHub user uploaded a version of foamMeshToMED compatible with v2106 (https://github.com/oseen/foamMeshToM...OpenFOAM-v2106), which works well for me with Code_Saturne v8.0.1. You must compile it manually. For some complex meshes, for some reason, it fails unless you check the "fix mesh" option in the Code_Saturne GUI.

Could the tool foamMeshToMED convert the mesh from openfoam to the type that gmsh could read in?
