Hello! I have been trying to run a multiregion mesh using snappyHexMesh. I am able to get a reasonable mesh with two separated regions - AIR and SOLID.
The problem is, at my AIR inlets, some cells from the AIR inlets and surrounding SOLID gets mixed up, and the quality is bad. Please suggest some methods to avoid this. I am attaching my snappyHexMeshDict file. I will provide the full case setup on request, since the file size is too large. Thanks in advance. PS. I am using OpenFOAM v2012 Code:

Hi Adibantwal,
Hope you have finally found a solution to this issue. I am also working with multi regions and the truth is that I have faced several problems until now. Did you find a way to match cells in the interface between regions? Best, Alex |

I have same issue, I found that the plan interface without issue, but cylinder surface cause the problem.
I have a fluid inside cylinder and solid box, and we see that the interface (red) only half and the rest belongs to walls of cellzone. can someone guide us? |

Hi Guys, I solved the problem by setting all the interface area same surfacerefinement level.

Could you check minCellFraction?
It worked for me. I am currently testing the interface refinement to refine some "teeth" cells on the interface; however 'minCellFarction' did the work, namely distinguishing cells based on regions. |
