Hello Everyone

After 2 years when this thread posted, is there any up to date tutorials about SALOME(CFD side) mesher and where can we find it ? Videos are really useful instead of documents. However, documents are appreciated if they are explained in deep.

Thanks in advance

Hello steadyman,

I've recently been looking into using Salome for meshing as well, as it offers more flexibility than OpenFOAM's own meshing tools. I suggest you work through the Salome tutorials https://www.salome-platform.org/user...alome-tutorial. They will teach you some of the modelling concepts used in Salome like entities, groups, meshing algorithms etc. as well as familiarize you with its user interface. A word of caution though: some steps/commands are not explained in the tutorials and you might have to figure them out yourself. So I advice to approach them with patience, enough time and perseverance.

Depending on your needs not all might be useful to you but I suggest at the very least you do the first two. I also recommend reading through the Meshing documentation, which explains many things in more detail, see https://docs.salome-platform.org/lat...ESH/index.html. One of the most important things to master are the meshing algorithms their hypotheses and how they are applied. Experimenting and modifying the settings of the tutorials or any other geometry helps understanding how they work and what the settings do. Good luck!

You're welcome steadyman. I don't deal with compressible flows so I can't help you there.
