Hello everyone,

I am just a beginner in CFD simulation and I have to simulate-Engine intake stroke with valve motion' by OpenFOAM. The first challenge I am facing now is to make the engine geometry with moving mesh or to generate the mesh for engine geometry. Could you please give me some suggestions on this regard?
Thank you all in advance.

try to make simple geometry of engine with one intake valve and valve the geometry should me closed and air tight then use snappyhex mesh(internal) refine it on the valve and try for different valve lenth opening

Hi

You can use the overset meshes to solve this problem. But if the motion area is not so big, you can use the Dynamic meshes which there are some tutorials and lessons in Youtube.
