Hello
Why has snappyHexMesh generated time stamps? namely 0.5 and 1 each with varying files. How do I view this in paraview using foamToVTK (parafoam doesn't work for me)? Thanks |

I tried placing the '0.5' folder items in the '0' folder as it contained a lot of files that are usually in the '0' folder.. like alpha.water... and p_rgh and a lot more..
and the '1' folder contents(polymesh) I placed in the constant/polymesh folder. Question: 1)Am I doing things right? 2)why did snappyhexmesh generate all these files.. I thought it just meshes and setfields dict checks/edits alpha.water 3)I get this error after doing the above: Quote:
I don't recall setting any limit :O Please do help |

Hi,
By default, snappy will write each stage of the mesh that it generates into a new time folder. In your case, my guess is that you have deltaT set to 0.5 and so each of the meshes is written into that. If you want to avoid this, use the -overwrite flag for snappyHexMesh and it will be written into the original constant folder. You get the error in size because I am guessing that you asked snappy to remesh before removing the previous mesh. Remove the previous mesh, reblockMesh and then run snappy with the -overwrite option and it should be fine I think. Cheers, Antimony |
