Dear OpenFoam community,
I'm having problems with snappyHexMesh because it doesn't create the patch of the .stl files introduced in it. That is, after snappyHexMesh is ready I have the same Patches I blockMesh created. When I check the Log.snappyHexMesh I see a strange message: Quote:
I collected the files, where probably the error is (including the log files of the last time I ran ./Allrun.pre) in a folder called Check SHM. I'm uploading my whole case to help you help me . I guess it might be a problem of the .stl files that I'm introducing in the triSurface folder (. I created them with AutoCAD Inventor 2014, setting file format ASCI and the standard definitions for medium Quality. Unfortunately I couldn't upload these files because they're too big. Has anyone dealt with this kind of issue ? Do you have any ideas ? Thanks in advance, Werner |

Hi Werner,
Did you ever manage to resolve this? I have a very similar problem where I get the same error message. Regards, Thomas |

Hi Thomas,
yes, i manage to solve it exporting the .stl file from solid edge and not from Inventor in ASCI format). That did the trick. Perhaps inventor doesn't write the files in a proper way or had problems to do it in my case because the geometry was made initially in Solid Edge jejeje. let me know if it works for you or if you have other problems with snappyHexMesh. I've struggled a lot with it :P. |

Greetings Werner,
I am glad you found a solution! I also exporting from Inventor. In my case it is not the exporting from Inventor that's the problem. I've posted my problem here: http://www.cfd-online.com/Forums/ope...-surfaces.html As you can see I think I have a workaround solution, but it is very cumbersome. Anyway, thanks for your reply and happy snappyHexMesh-ing ;-) Thomas |
