Dear all,
I generated a STL file with Salome-meca 2015.1, but I don’t know how should it be done …,I sketch a curve consist of coordaniate of points of airfoil and connect them with spline curve,,extrude it 1 cm around z axis so export it in STL format but it seems strange
I have attached the picture
Can I use it for snappyHexMesh?

Best regards
Samira

Hello Samira,

Your STL must be closed in order to generate a mesh for an external flow, as I imagine that what you are trying to do.You need to generate triangles on both sides of the wing.

how do I generate triangles on both sides of the wing?
Can you please provide me step-by-step instructions for creating it?

Hi samira,

I found a good step by step tutorial by youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ObsFQUiVi1U

regards
Alex

edit: I think Daniels link fits better, because snappyHexmesh is probably not the best program for your problem.
