i have run a case in OpenFOAM and want to test it also in fluent.i have not acess to gambit now.
How can i convert simple geometry and mesh i created in fluent withot need to install gambit? I know there is a vice versa tool but i need it reciprocally. Is it possible? |

OpenFOAM cases are only 3d, 2d openfoam case is fake because the mesh has one cell in the third dimension. The first tutorial of OpenFOAM (cavity) has the mesh in this way. For these reasons, if you want to use a mesh of OpenFOAM with Fluent you must use fluent 3d. Fluent has 3d and 2d versions but the 2d version read "real" 2d mesh and is not compatible with the OpenFOAM meshes. |

my case is 2d in real(3d in of) but 2d fluent doesn't accept it.
Isn't a way to modify the file obtained from foammeshtofluent? |

I do not know a method for changing a 3d mesh to get a 2d mesh, but I suggest you to use the 3d mesh in fluent with appropriate BC, for example I think you can use symmetry BC in Fluent to "emulate" empty BC in OpenFOAM.

thank you for your helpful answer.
Then i think dimension in z direction should be small or no matter? |

The important thing is to have one cell in z direction, the size does not matter.
