Hi,

I'm trying to install openfoam on a virtual machine with ubuntu 20.04.2 ARM64 on my Mac with M1 Max Chip, following this instruction:
https://openfoam.org/download/9-ubuntu/

When I tried to run the second step which is sudo apt-get update, I got this Error:
Skipping acquire of configured file 'main/binary-arm64/Packages' as repository 'http://dl.openfoam.org/ubuntu focal InRelease' does not seem to provide it (sources.list entry misspelt?)

How could I fix it? Thx!

My sources.list file is in the attachment.

I'm interested in this too. I would be very grateful if anyone could shed some light on ARM64 installation.

Yes, I think this is the issue. I've actually been able to compile OF9 from source code

Why don't you just compile it natively on M1?

The binaries are provided only for two architectures: amd64 and i386. take a look.

Installing OpenFOAM on m1 macs often requires patching the source code. You need to change some part of the settings in etc directory at the very least. Here you can find some patches, but these patches can only be applied on intel macs.

The Good news is As of OpenFOAM v2112, it is possible to compile OpenFOAM for macOS without code patches.
