what is the pros and cons of v8 (.org) and v2012 (.com) versions.

Why choosing one or the other ?

Thanks for your answer,

it's not all clear but I notice you wrote "OpenFOAM+" about the ESI version which has given me the impression that a .com version is similar to .org version but with additional features.

OF v2012 > OF v8

Is that correct ?

OF v2012 != OF v8 != foam-extend

PS: I don't remember I have ever called OFv2012 as OF+ within the last couple of years.

Yes you did not write "OpenFOAM+", that was just in the thread you forwarded:
