Hi everyone,
I have the possibiliby both for installing Windows and Linux operating system on my computer directed to openFOAM. I prefer Windows, cause its easier and better for me to use Windows remote desktop, than Google or Teamviewer (which has to be used in Linux). Thus, I have a simple question for you; If I install Windows operating system, then Virtualbox and inside it - OpenFOAM, the solving/operation/meshing etc. would be slower than when I install Linux? Or - rather the same? Kind regards Destroy |

Hi!
Ofc it will be slower. You will run 2 operation systems on the same PC. And windows like memory, which can be really bad for you. And you will give up nearly a whole core for that win. Also the virtualisation will consume something too. But you should check the linux bash on windows which is a much much much better solution and you will have the best from both worlds (At least you will have what you want). |
