HI all,

I have just successfully installed OpenFOAM 19.06 (finally) as well as building paraview successfully.

One curious thing keeps happening. It seems as if my souring of OpenFOAM v19.06 is only temporary. I have previously installed and used OpenFOAM verision 7 (openfoam.org). If i open a terminal from my desktop and change directory to $FOAM_TUTORIALS i automatically move to /opt/openfoam7/tutorials where i installed OpenFOAM 7.

Sourcing OpenFOAM to source ~/OpenFOAM/OpenFOAM-v1906/etc/bashrc makes me able to change directory through $FOAM_TUTORIALS to the $HOME directory where I have installed OpenFOAM v19.06. If i then close the terminal, and open it again, the source leads me back to tutorials from OpenFOAM version 7.. Is there a way that i can permanently run OpenFOAM version 19.06?

Hi all,

So I figured out the problem, pretty stupid one at that...

As i did before, sourcing the OpenFOAM version 19.06
source $HOME/OpenFOAM/OpenFOAM-v1906/etc/bashrc

i just forgot to run the following command:

source $HOME/.bashrc

The cd $FOAM_TUTORIALS now takes me to the correct directory.
