Hi. I recently installed OpenFoam using this installation guide: https://www.openfoam.com/download/in...windows-10.php

However, it seems that quite a few things that are different using this version than the virtualbox route, which is what my professor uses. I would like to follow the coursework as closely as possible, so I want to get rid of my current installation and redownload using virtualbox.

After searching the web on how to properly uninstall, it seems it is dependant on what method I used to install.

Is there anyone who knows what steps I should take to uninstall properly? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Quick answer:
  1. Open the Ubuntu command line interface, that is provided via WSL (not via Virtualbox).
  2. Then run this command:
    Code:
    sudo rm -r /opt/OpenFOAM
  3. Then edit the file "~/.bashrc" and remove the last line that refers to "OpenFOAM-v1906", or simply run:
    Code:
    sed -i -e 's=.*OpenFOAM-v1906.*==' ~/.bashrc
  4. Finally, if you do not want Ubuntu via WSL installed in Windows, then right-click on its icon on the Start menu (from where you usually launch it) and choose the option to uninstall it.
