Greetings everyone,
I'm using OpenFOAM for Windows, and the current /home/ofuser/workingDir folder is shared with the C:/Users/myName folder. But now I have a SSD ( S: ). So I would like to run OpenFOAM inside this drive, that is, I would like to set S:/someFolder as the workingDir shared folder.

Could anybody help me?

To access other drive , new scripts is needed and which will create a new container

I have provided a link below i.e at end to download tar file which has 4 files in it .



What you need to changed
i) Open the Virtual Machine and then close the default which is running



ii) Go to setting and add new drive which you want to share. As shown in attached image

i shared new drive E i.e e:\ to e/ folder in virtual box . Please do same with your drive



iii) Open the file of_start_container.ps1

and edit 4th line

docker-machine.exe ssh default "sudo mount -t vboxsf -o uid=1000,gid=50 e/ /root/../mountedDrive
(This is used by me . You need to replace e/ with your drive name (see attached image i.e for me e/ e:\ i.e e:\ is my directory which i mount)





Launching and creating container.

i) Click on the create_OF_plus.bat and it will create a new container

Close the terminal when process end

ii) Click on the startOF_plus . It will open container and now you can see two folder there
workingDir_mounted and workingDir . You need to use this script to launch openfoam .

You can click it multiple times and it will open the new terminal and you can work in multiple terminal with
openfoam environment set.

P.S.: Is there any way I could run this in a terminal-like window (just like the original OpenFOAM_Start)? It's running in PowerShell, but I like the good old black background

I have the same question as LThomes (or as in the posts of rudolf.hellmuth or garumple).

It seems none of the links to the zipped-files are accessible at this moment? Could you be so kind to provide, once again, a new link?

I understand you changed the settings in the Oracle VM VirtualBox Manager and you altered the of_start_container.ps1 file.
Since you renamed the create_OF and start_OF batch files, I suppose you altered these slightly in respect to the ones that come with the openFOAM for Windows installation?
