Greetings YoungZN and welcome to the forum!

A few questions, so that we are able to diagnose the problem:
  1. Which Linux Distribution are you using?
  2. Which installation instructions did you follow?
  3. Are you logged in directly in the workstation where OpenFOAM has been installed or are you accessing remotely?
    1. If you are accessing remotely, which protocol are you using? SSH or VNC?
Best regards,
Bruno

Hello I had the same issue. It would be great to know how to problem solve.

I'm installing OpenFOAM v7 for Windows 10 (win64)

On Ubuntu following these installation instructions:

https://openfoam.org/download/7-ubuntu/

I successfully installed OpenFOAM but when I came to User Configuration

I typed:

gedit ~/.bashrc

Which returned:

~$ gedit ~/.bashrc
Unable to init server: Could not connect: Connection refused

(gedit:14): Gtk-WARNING **: 17:56:52.440: cannot open display:

I'm not sure what the issue is.

Please can you help?

Best,

Josh

Quick answer @Josh: Follow the instructions at https://openfoam.org/download/windows-10/ - namely section "Enabling Graphical Applications"
