I got the following error messages, a lot of them, while copying the OpenFOAM tutorials files to my local working directory:
[ofuser@default OpenFOAM_tut]$ cp -r $FOAM_TUTORIALS ./ cp: cannot create symbolic link `./tutorials/incompressible/porousSimpleFoam/straightDuctImplicit/system/backgroundMeshDecomposition/fvSchemes': Protocol error cp: cannot create symbolic link `./tutorials/incompressible/porousSimpleFoam/straightDuctImplicit/system/backgroundMeshDecomposition/fvSolution': Protocol error May I ask: 1. why I had these errors? 2. Does it matter? and 3. How to solve the problem if these errors are critical? Thank you! |

Hi,
1. Though your post lacks information, I guess, the problem is with host file system, it does not support symbolic links (for example, http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1...protocol-error). 2. It depends. If you plan to run any of tutorials with errors. 3. http://www.ahtik.com/blog/fixing-you...symlink-error/ Links are from https://duckduckgo.com/?q=cannot+cre...Protocol+error |
