Hello all,

I am trying to compile OpenFOAM with OPENMPI and having a bunch of errors since the compiler is unable to find the header files it needs. I have updated the settings.sh file in "/etc/bashrc/config" directory as well as the mplibINTELMPI file in "/wmake/rules/linux64Icc/" directory. Does anybody have experience with similar errors?

The following are some of the error messages:

Making dependency list for source file UOPwrite.C
could not open file omp.h for source file UOPwrite.C
could not open file ompi/mpi/cxx/pmpicxx.h for source file UOPwrite.C
could not open file ompi/mpi/cxx/constants.h for source file UOPwrite.C
could not open file ompi/mpi/cxx/functions.h for source file UOPwrite.C
could not open file ompi/mpi/cxx/datatype.h for source file UOPwrite.C
could not open file ompi/mpi/cxx/exception.h for source file UOPwrite.C
could not open file ompi/mpi/cxx/op.h for source file UOPwrite.C
could not open file ompi/mpi/cxx/status.h for source file UOPwrite.C

Thanks!

Greetings menonshyam and welcome to the forum!

Actually, those specific errors you can ignore. More than that, if you check a few lines above, you'll see a message indicating that you should in fact ignore warnings about "mpicxx.h" or similar.

Best regards,
Bruno

Hi Bruno,

Thanks for your insights. These warnings indeed don't affect the computations. By the way, do you mind explaining how I should configure it to get rid of those warnings or why they appear?

Best regards,
Xiaodong
