Hello everybody, it's me Ali

After learning CFD with SALOME and OpenFOAM, I think it's good for me to share what I understand from SALOME and OpenFOAM.
I've created several step by step tutorials of SALOME & OpenFOAM for various topic.

You can check them all in my YouTube channel here:
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCnl...xO_4z7JJhxsvBg

At the moment, I have created these videos:

1. 2D Airfoil of NACA 0012
Part 1 Preparing The Geometry: https://youtu.be/D2mOK12P6oA
Part 2 Preparing The Mesh: https://youtu.be/dNNnFoJ-PuM
Part 3 Folder case setup and run: https://youtu.be/rMECX5DQFC8
Part 4 Postprocessing and pressure coefficient data of airfoil: https://youtu.be/pLB8Hamsshw

2. 2D Rotating Cylinder
Part 1 Preparing the geometry and mesh: https://youtu.be/oMETKAqcU4Y
Part 2 Folder case setup and run: https://youtu.be/aKIOO_ns0Do
Part 3 Postprocessing and data analysis: https://youtu.be/GATonlwidow

3. 2D Spherical Bullet
Part 1 Preparing the geometry and mesh: https://youtu.be/OYkCzormEvw
Part 2 Folder case setup and run: https://youtu.be/Hw2mh88q_cY

4. 3D Propeller
Part 1 Preparing the geometry: https://youtu.be/rqrCqzuvxPY
Part 2 Preparing the mesh: https://youtu.be/z8J6euEVCvg

with on going videos:
Part 3 Folde case setup and run: in progress...
Part 4 Postprocessing and animation: in progress...
Part 5 (Optimization) Find optimal torque and rpm at particular speed of flow: in progress...

and another tutorial video regularly, at lest one tutorial in a month.

Hopefully it can help any beginners to learn CFD OpenFOAM and SALOME at the same time.

If you have any comments or suggestions, please let me know.

Best Regards,

Ali

Hi,

you should/could add you contributions to the wiki.openfoam.com if they are needed. Actually I have the feeling that the wheel is re-invented again and again. Please provide also a openfoamwiki page in which you summarize your stuff, otherwise it can happen that your work will vanish.

Cheers.

Hello

Thanks for the suggestion, but I can't make the openfoamwiki page at the moment because I got some tasks to do.
I'll put the tutorials on wiki page once I complete my tasks.

Best Regards,

Ali

Nice suggestion mr Tobi

Anyway, I never create any openfoamwiki documentation before, so can you please suggest me what step I should take for making this tutorial documentation?

Thanks

Hi!
I tried doing the tutorial with the 2D Bullet, but I always get crashes. Mostly negative temperature. Got any advice for me? I did everything the same as you did. The only difference might be at the grid. I can't see some of your settings. Otherwise, everything I did the same. I don't think the grid can be that much of a game changer.

Hello Ali,

I exactly follow your videos on Youtube but unfortunately I couldn't convert the mesh into openfoam. I have installed salome9.5. I think that the problem is connected with the boundary faces or groups.

During the extrusion, I have followed the default commands which include mesh itself. I dont know how to specify faces, edges and boundaries on Salome. Do you have any solution or tutorail to overcome with that problem?

Ugurtan
