Greetings
I'm having an issue installing swak4Foam 0.3.1 on OF2.2.2 & Ubuntu 12.04. During installation, I get the following in the log file: /opt/OpenFOAM/openfoam222/src/sampling/lnInclude/sampledSet.H:47:22: fatal error: coordSet.H: No such file or directory Second run of ./Allwmake attached (hopefully - first post here ). I understand this was an issue with earlier versions of swak4Foam and OF2.2.x as per http://www.cfd-online.com/Forums/ope...m-2-2-0-a.html . However, I'm assuming this shouldn't be an issue with version 0.3.1 & can't see any evidence of this from a forum search. The log file suggests I'm installing the expected version & have the right prerequisites. I have a couple of different OF installations & am wondering if this is tangling anything up. Doing the same installation into my OF2.3.0 directory results in the same error. Hope this is sufficient info, any clues appreciated. Thanks Steve |

Greetings Steve and welcome (back) to the forum!
I've tested just now following the instructions from here: http://openfoamwiki.net/index.php/In...ling_On/Ubuntu - in my main machine with Ubuntu 12.04 and OpenFOAM 2.2.2, and I did not have any problems. The first error message: Code:
In file included from repositories/SetsRepository.H:51:0, from repositories/SetsRepository.C:37: /opt/OpenFOAM/openfoam222/src/sampling/lnInclude/sampledSet.H:47:22: fatal error: coordSet.H: No such file or directory compilation terminated. I suggest you take a quick look at this wiki page: http://openfoamwiki.net/index.php/In...with_the_Shell - there you'll find several details on how to have more than one OpenFOAM installation in your machine. Best regards, Bruno

Hi Bruno
Thanks for your reply, and thank you also for your extensive posting, which has assisted me multiple times in the past. I agree it's an environment issue, and as you might have guessed I also have an older copy of OF installed (1.6-ext), and the search location for the file during installation ($FOAM_SRC/sampling/lnInclude/) does indeed correspond to the 1.6-ext installation, not for the required 2.2.2 installation ($FOAM_SRC/fileFormats/lnInclude/) for which I am installing swak4Foam. I use alias commands to source the different installations in the bashrc file, and during troubleshooting got rid of the alias altogether & just referenced the newer 2.2.2 installation. There are some "ghosts in the machine" with regard environment variables, which I knew about & still have to fix, but which I considered peripheral enough to not be likely to affect the swak4Foam installation. Obviously not the case in hindsight. Env & Export output attached for completeness, but I don't expect you to trawl through them. All the basic stuff ($FOAM_SRC etc) appears correct. What I don't have my head around yet is the best way to find the source of the offending environment variable. I would have expected that a search of the output from env or export would be likely to turn up the text string "sampling/lnInclude", but that doesn't appear to be the case. Not asking a specific question at this point - I obviously have some work to do & just wanted to thank you for your response. Regards Steve |

Ha - OK, sorted it out in the end. I had my different OF installations nicely sorted out via alias commands at the end of the .bashrc file. I couldn't understand how I was getting cross-contamination between different version environment variables despite this.
I finally had a closer look at the entire .bashrc file, only to find a sneaky little source command as the FIRST line of the file, referring to the original installation. Obviously put there during my earliest stumblings around with OF & going unnoticed until the new OF installation. Pretty funny now, but I wasn't laughing earlier... |
