Everything works perfectly in this simpleFoam case of a 2D channel, with the directMappedPatch utility used to achieve the fully developed flow.
But absurdly, when I change ONLY the data in red: blocks ( hex (0 1 2 3 4 5 6 7) (20 20 1) simpleGrading (1 1 1) ); I obtain this error: Badly formed bounding box ![]() ![]() #1 Foam::error::abort() in "/home/om3ro/OpenFOAM/OpenFOAM-1.6/lib/linuxGccDPOpt/libOpenFOAM.so"...etc... I append the compressed files. Please use the following commands: blockMesh -> changeDictionary -> simpleFoam Since you use (20 20 1) in blockMeshDict no error occurs, but try to use (40 40 1) or other combinations and you get the error. Thanks Marco |

In 1.6 it does not like having the directMapped on a coordinate plane. This has been fixed in 1.6.x. Alternatively very slightly perturb your geometry so the patch you are mapping from is not on a plane.
Thanks for reporting, Mattijs |
