Hello everyone,

Greetings!

Currently, I am struggling in generating a dynamic mesh using SnappyHexMesh. Geometry consists of the following three parts:
1. Reactor: cylindrical, dia: 30 cm height 80 cm
2. Blade: 4 wing blade, dia 10 cm with a blade twisted at an angle
3. AMI

As the geometry is to scale to the experiment that was designed by the department.

when the meshing finishes, I get a lot of unwanted cells in one of the directions.

From the outside outside.JPG it looks fine and also when snapped in the X direction Xplane_snap.JPG. But when I snap it in Y direction I see unwanted cells which are some how linked to the AMI Yplane_snap.jpg.

Please see the snappyhexmeshdict attached as well snappyHexMeshDict.txt

Could anyone explain what can be done to clean the mesh? Things that have already been tried:

1. refining and coarsing of mesh
2. turning off Decompose polyhedra in paraview.

Thank you in advance any help would be appreciated.

Kind regards
Ab

You need to use the crinkle option on clips and slices to avoid this representation. Good news: your mesh is fine, its just visuals.
