Hello,

i'm not sure if this is the proper forum for my question, but i want to ask for some basics/fundamentals in grid generation. To be more precise, i want to read about constructing meshes, alone or from cad geometries. Are there any books for beginners? Also, from the known softwares (Ansys,Gambit etc), which is more friendly for amateurs?

Thanks in advance

Thanks for the quick reply!

I'm an undergraduate student working on a thesis on CFD, and i want to extend my knowledge to grid generation as deeply as possible, in order to be able to construct and examine any geometry i want.

You should be able to find a lot of papers authored by Dr. Peter Eiseman here

Thompson's book is a classic (and freely available online).
