Hi,

I'm beginning a graduate degree in mechanical engineering this spring semester and am interested in RBF-morph's capabilities for FSAE application. I joined rbf-morph.com but did not see any links for download. Does a trial version of RBF-Morph exist so I can learn through experimentation?

Hi,
I’m trying to read a mesh generated from gambit and use it in FORTRAN, I know that I must read mesh file from gambit it fluent then export fluent case file to tecplot. But I couldn’t read this file in FORTRAN, is there a subroutine available for reading the tecplot file in FORTRAN.
Thanks you

Guys,

I realize I'm a beginner at all of this and you are all more experienced than me, so please pardon the noob question, but I was referring to the RBF-Morph solver. If you'd be so kind to help me understand better, I would really appreciate it .

Also, an audio translation of that Russian youtube video would make more sense to me ha! Thanks for it anyways .

RBF Morph has been used for the optimization of the air box of our FSAE car at the University of Rome Tor Vergata:

RBF Morph is a commercial add-on for advanced mesh morphing using Radial Basis Functions. It is distributed by RBF Morph (www.rbf-morph.com) or available directly by ANSYS. An extra license is required.
The Mesh Morpher/Optimizer comes with Fluent and implements basic mesh morphing functionalities. It is based on FFD (Bernstein polynomials). It is included in Fluent license.

Thank You very much sir. You mean with mesh morpher/optimizer i can do small changes like change in length, width, diamter etc. but with rbf-morphing we can go with much more changes.

Thank You Sir for reply

Both technologies have specific merits. The extent of the modification using mesh morphing is more related to the mesh itself and to the desired effect rather than to the mesh morphing technology.
The best is to try both to full understand what is the potential.
The main advantages of mesh morphing are that the work flow can be accelerated and automated even for very large meshes; furthermore keeping the same mesh remove the re-meshing noise.

More details on RBF Morph in the presentations given at ANSYS Automotive Simulation World Congres 2015 in Detroit:
