Hi there.
I'm looking forward to having some help on this. What would you think is better software for a CFD calculations of combustion dynamics: Ensight or Tecplot? I've just started to use a new CFD package and I have to decide which software I will be using now on. I'm familiar with Tecplot and honestly, it's been working perfectly fine for all my cases so far. But if Ensight has a better performance, it would be the right moment for me to change. Thanks and any suggestion will be welcome, |

thanks to everone,
you're definitely right. I'll try to implement a converter from Ensight to Tecplot, perhaps it'll be easier than changing the viewer. The point was my new code has the outcome for Ensight by default, so that if i want to use a different viewer, i have to do it by my self. thanks Dani |

Tecplot wins. But detail fuctions in ensight are important sometimes. ii) large data treatment ..... realationship with compatibility I think ensight is better than tecplot. In my case, there was a crash with tecplot's display when data is tranformed in fluent. But without transformation fuction in fluent(raw data from fluent), it can work nicely. iiii) anyway.... I always want to use tecplot because it is simpler than any other CFD post program. If some special function is needed, you can try other software including ensight, fieldview and so on... |

Since there is now a free version of EnSight its easy to try the software and see for yourself which is the easiest and with the most features. EnSight 10 changes the discussion on ease of use - since you can just drag and drop or use right-click to accomplish most operations. What could be easier - telepathic software.

Dear all,
I am working with ADINA finite element software. For post processing the results I used from the Ensight. However I prefer to use from tecplot for the post processing. But unfortunately I can't export files from ADINA in a compatible format for processing in the Tecplot. Is it possible to export files from ENsight or ADINA in order that processing in the tecplot? Please help me. Thank you. |
