Dear foamers,
I was trying to generate a mesh using snappyHexMesh and this is what I currently have: nozzle2Dcase2.png As you can see, this quite a bad mesh and I would like something more like this: nozzle2Dcase3-1.jpg Any ideas about which command and how can I obtain a more structured mesh and potentially composed by hexahedrons solely? Thank you |

with snappyhexmesh you can not generate purely hex mesh, because in the snapping stage hex cells will be split.
you can refine the surface though and add layers which will look much better. PS: it is a better idea to post openfoam related things in the openfoam sub-forum |

You cannot do a body-fitted grid with snappyHexMesh, that invalidates the "snappy" part of snappyHexMesh.
You need an external tool. ICEM, GridPro, etc. OpenFOAM does not provide tools that does such a grid. |

You can do much with blockMesh, for example:
https://curiosityfluids.com/2019/04/...sh-an-example/ Gmsh is a good option for structured axisymmetric nozzles. Edit: not sure why I read ”nozzle” |
