How do you identify relevance of compressibility

Greetings,

How could I compute the velocity of an acoustic wave observed in the divergence field?

I see divergence wavefronts. I wanted to post process results the field to measure the velocity at which they propagate to ensure they are acoustics.

The sound velocity a is defined by dp/drho|s=const =a^2. Acustic waves moves at the characteristic velocities u+a and u-a.
