Hi every one

I am going to do a DNS simulation of a fixed droplet inside the channel with Phase Field method
but i don't know how to keep the droplet fixed?

does anyone have an idea or know a paper which is worked on the the droplet kept fixed?

I appreciate your suggestions.
Thanks

It's a two-phase flow problem, not very difficulty. The droplet is fixed, but the shape of the droplet is changing with the time, due to the contract angle with wall and the drag force are aslo changed.you can use the VOF model and try the caculation.

Is it a horizontal or a vertical chanel?

For vertical i would know a possible solution..

But horizontal .. hmm

thanks for your reply but i should use Phase field model to capture interface (actually i have a diffuse interface not sharp)

I dont understand your problem very well...

You have a diffusive droplet inside a horizontal chanel that needs to be fixed in position. Can you provide more information, is the interface tracked? Maybe a sketch can help

For a VOF type simulation in a vertical pipe it would be essentially a controlling problem to keep the position at a fixed heigth..

Regards

I don't understand you said the interfaces.
