Hi to all,

I have to perform a simulation (to calculate the Cl) of an airfoil at low angle of attack and high angle of attack to calculate the Clmax.

I thought to use the k-e turbulence model for the first simulation because i know it performs well for not too complex flows, not severe pressure gradient and attached flow. Am i right? Furthermore I don't know if the same model could work good also for the Clmax. Maybe should i run a LES or use a k-w model? Or is there another turbulence model that work better in this case?

So, my final question is, which practice do you follow to best calculate the Cl in my situation?

Many Thanks for help

You could try a DES apporach...

Thank you Filippo for your quick reply.
Which model do you suggest for DES? The usual k-w or spalart-allmaras?

Well, you should consider the literature about your problem, it would be useful for you to compare results with different approaches
