Hi guys
Im hoping somebody might be able to help me out with a basic enough meshing problem. I imported in a cad file of a plug flow reactor for the saponification of ethyl acetate reaction. When I try to run to run the mesh the program tells me that no surface representation is available for meshing. Any help is appreciated. |

what mesh generation package are you using? in any case, you need surfaces for a 3d geometry. I would normally export my geom files as *.ACIS or *.SAT format. IGES too

Hi David, thanks for your reply. I am using the thin prism layer polyhedral mesher, tthe geometry files were given as CAD files, how do you import in the other formats

if it is a CAD file, it should be in some readable format that most CAD softwares are able to process. Use autoCAD or Solidworks for example and save the file as a format that your mesher is able to read.
