Hello Everybody !
Hope all of you are fine I am trying to solve moving mesh NS equations for an airfoil. I follow the book by Blazek of which i have a soft version. It says the codes are on the CD ROM accompanying the hard edition. Would anyone be kind to send me the codes or especially the preconditioned NS equation code at the email id shahsirat@gmail.com thanks and regards Shah |

The codes cannot be freely distributed. You will have to buy the book to get the codes.

As owner of the book i agree, but notice that:
1) there is not even a clue, in the book, on how to get such codes 2) anyone can reach the site (it's just the book site) and download them |

The book comes with the full set of codes on a CD. The sample codes on the website are of course freely available. The full set of codes cannot be publicly distributed. It is best that we do not ask for those codes on this public forum.

I have to disagree, i bought the book not later than 3-4 months ago and no such CD was in the book (even if, with Amazon, i never got any cd... just once). Also, it is not even mentioned (maybe it was in previous versions).
Moreover, Dr. Blazek site (http://www.cfd-ca.de/reading.html) clearly promotes the book and the book companion site. Finally, from Chapter 12: " The source codes are provided under the terms of the GNU General Public License, which means that they may be freely copied and redistributed free of charge. See the file LICENSE.txt in one of the directories for more details."
This is just to be precise about me infringing any copyright. I guess things were different with previous book versions. |

The new versions probably dont come with a CD. The codes are on the website itself which are freely available to anyone.
I suppose the restriction applies to the codes distributed on CD in the older versions. I had put them up on github but had to take down since the author complained to me. Note that those codes were also under GPL but still I could not distribute them publicly. |

Seems like a clear violation of the GPL. The author can't do anything about you uploading the code.

Anyway, it is great that the 3rd edition codes are freely available on the book website. I have checked that these include all the codes that I find in the older CDROM version and some new code also.
