Hi everyone,
I was wondering if someone has experience or knows if it is possible to integrate SUMO (http://www.larosterna.com/sumo.html) in a matlab routine for instance. The tool SUMO can create a surface and volume mesh (TetGen is integrated within SUMO for volume meshing). I haven't found out how to run SUMO automatically by calling it from another program (matlab) without having to manually operate it. I would thus like to run SUMO automatically on the background. Thanks in advance. |

Hi,
I see it has been a while since your post. SUMO is used in MATLAB in code called CEASIOM http://www.ceasiom.com/. I was thinking of trying to couple SUMO into OpenFOAM. Did you have any success with your attempt to couple it to MATLAB? |

Hi Carla,
I used Matlab to generate smx files (Sumo input files) that are automatically loaded into Sumo. From Sumo, i export an Iges file (also automatically) which is meshed in another program. In this way, i can generate a large number of Iges files directly. My configuration is a BWB which is easy to generate smx files for since it consists of a number of airfoils parallel to each other. Conventional aircraft should not be very difficult since you can inspect the standard conventional aircraft input files that Sumo has. If you need any help, just ask. |

Hi,
I've tried to use the Sumo standalone package Qt4-2.7.9 (downloaded from larosterna) both in ubuntu 18.04.01 and 16.04, but when I run dwfsumo and I confirm to open one of the pre-assembled models, a window with the following message is opening: "Problem creating library assembly. Error message: Inconsistent geometry in body frame 'FrameX0'. Dimensions (width/height) must be strictly positive". This doesn't allow me to use any of the pre-assembled models. Did you experience this problem? Thanks in advance, Andrea |
