Hi guys,
what is the best solver for N-S equation? I am a bit confused! finite volume SIMPLE or other method by finite element, I need to code it by MATLAB. Last edited by sinagilassi; May 20, 2013 at 07:46. |

I don't think there is such thing as "the best solver". It depends on the problem, on your needs, on your computer system...

Oh sorry, I have never seen them abbreviated as N-V, usually (in my community), it is NS oder NSE....
But returning to your question: There is no general answer to this, it depends on the type of equation you want to solve (comp vs incomp), your mesh, your computational resources, the maximum wall clock time, your numerical expertise and so on! |

I am coding SIMPLE algorithm with MATLAB. I think that it would be finished next week. however, the algorithm is very complicated. the result is great. In my opinion, there is no specific solver for N-S equation because the mesh is different for each system. it'd better lean on our codes |
