Hello guys,
Im always wondering this. Maybe different answers come from different circumstance. But for your country, is CFD a well-paid area? In china, as you guys know. Most of CFD companies in China just sell softwares. Some of them are a little bit large, they sell most of the common CFD products such as Ansys, comsol, converge, xflow.... But for individuals, most of CFDers just sell them! several of them also engaged in writing some documents. For example, a master from top 100 universities in China who is in CFD industry. He can make about 5000 rmb(800 USD) in Beijing or Shanghai. Thats a quite average salary. I believe a graduated doctor can earn higher on this, about 10000rmb(1600USD)? Oh, thats what u got per month. Anyway, Im interesed into other country's situation.

think less about payment and more how interesting and exiting will your life if you get one or another profession. Money is not most important thing. You should love your job to be happy!

I think since CFD engineers are usually (mechanical/...) engineers with at least a Bachelor's degree, they also get paid as much as an engineer in the respective country would get.
