I know that there is a pretty good site here in this forum where you can search for PhD positions in CFD (http://www.cfd-online.com/Jobs/listj...%20Studentship) but I was wondering if someone might know a similar site for aerodynamics.
Or let me put it that way: I am searching for a PhD in aerodynamics (open for any topic within aerodynamics) and I really want to do it abroad (Asia would be nice) ... after talking to some of my professors at my university it seems that it is hard to get/find a position abroad since they usually want to fill the places with their own students. Any ideas or suggestions? It is not urgent, I just want to be informed before I actually apply |

well, although I am german, I really like to live somewhere else, I've already lived in Italy and Spain and I am going to live in England next month (for a master degree in CFD at cranfield).
Asia is just a place where I really want to live for a certain period, not forever but at least I want to have that experience. Beside, I have a lot of friends there |

thank you a lot, that list really does help! We may just start our PhD together at the same university, who knows |

Hi
I'm a Asian and now studying in UK. Honestly speaking the heritage and the cutting-edge research activities in Aerospace would definitely go to Western world plus US, so I don't see a point going to Asia for a Phd in Aerodynamics. Maybe mathematics or other more fundamentals worthwhile doing. |

Thanks for your input. In the mean time I found a PhD at the imperial college in London. They collaborate with a university in Japan where I have to go as well so I guess this is a good compromise
