I'm simulating flow past a sphere (3D) in Fluent and I need a plot of the streamlines on a plane passing through the midsection of the sphere. I tried "Pathlines" but the problem is that the particles are released unevenly and in the 3D space; so when viewed perpendicularly, the plot is asymmetric. I'm attaching an image to clarify the problem.

Can anyone help?

You are making 3D calculation so it is not weird that you get pathlines crossing the cut-plane. Try to use Tecplot and there you can get more flexible results.
