I am using VOF to modelise a jet plunging into a water tank I initialise all the parameter to default value ( secondary phase(water) fraction volume is set ZERO. I creat a register using : adapt/region/I select the bounsaries of the water volum that i want to patch / I click mark A register named hexahedron-r0 is created
so I do this: Solve / initialise/ patch/ select hexahedron-r0 + volume fracion of water=1/ I click patch. theser is no message is given in fluent In ordrer to check my patched volum I displayed contour/ phases/ water volume fraction : So I see that: all the domaine is water (( all volum fraction of the calcul domain is equal to 1 )) please help me to find what is wrong thank you Mr Gernot for your remarks. I check the contour and initialisation as you say but it seems this is not the probleme. thank you very much in advance |

When you mark your region in the adapt panel, fluent tells you how many cells are marked ( for patching later ). Is this number of cells reasonable for your area? You can have a look at your marked area in the adapt/region/manage panel with display. If its possible ( depends on your geometry) i would prefer to mark your zone with adapt/iso-value and (for example) grid y-coordinate. Your way is the right one.
