I want to know how to get mesh-scale Reynolds stress and SGS stress using LES model in FLUENT. These are basic parameters of turbulent flow. Could you give me some advices?
Thanks. LCW |

LES is based on filtered NS equations (spatial averaging), out of which turbulent shear stress terms will be introduced into the equations. Reynold stresses comes by enseble averaging (RANS approach). i think, there no correlation between these two terms.

Thanks for attention. Information of Reynolds Stress can help us learn about the detailed transport process of momentum and energy. If we average the LES transient velocity we can get coherent components, but RANS method don't give this. In addition, if we want to compare the turbulent fluctuation with experiment data (LDV data), enseble-averaged Reynolds Stresses are needed.
