Hi Everyone,

I am trying to model liquid fuel combustion using the prePDF approach in fluent. However, I am not able to load the PDF file that was created in prePDF. I did the following: Define > Model > Species and activated the "Composition PDF Transport" model and had expected that a file selection menu will come up for me to select my PDF file. This was not the case.

I guess there is a way i can link fluent to prePDF.

Counting on your assistance.

James

You should follow define>model>species>non premixed combustion. Bye Silvia

Hi Silvia,

Thanks for replying to my post. I have done what you suggested to no avail. I simply do not know how one can create this link between fluent and prePDF. I have my PDF file already defined in prePDF but I am not able to load it into fluent.

Counting on your help.

James

I work with Fluent 6.0 and I load pdf file following : define>models>species>non premixed combustion>ok and then a file selection menu will come up for you to select your PDF file.

I don't understand why these instructions don't work... Silvia

Hi, James
I'm new to Fluent, CFD, and all that. I'm trying to follow a tutorial that instructs to "Start prePDF" as its first step. But, I don't even know how to do that. I mean, I didn't find any prePDF software after installing my Fluent 6.1 package. Could you please tell me how I can start prePDF preprocessor to creat a prePDF file!? Is it already installed now? or I have to install it separately?

Thank you in advance

Hi, Buceco
Thank you, but, I don't know where to find prePDF preprocessor. I have both Fluent 6.1 and 6.3.26 source files, but neither has prePDF. Besides, when I try to make PDF files using the built-in PDF table creator of Fluent 6.3 (Define> Models> Species> Transport & Reactions), I can't find many of the options equivalent to those of prePDF preprocessor, which are addressed by the tutorials I'm following.

I'd appreciate it if you let have your guidance on this issue.
Thank you
