I have some problem. My system is use the ceramic filter as porous media (3D as thickness 1.5 cm). How can i choose between porous jump and porous zone or i have to use it both? I try to read the user guide but it's not clear. Could anybody help me please.

Porous jump model is used in face zone not in cell zone so use porous zone because your geometry is 3D. First define your zone as fluid and then in boundary condition add the porous zone by setting the inertial and viscous resistance coefficients. You can find how to calculate these coefficients in the help manual. Define the porosity also. Or you can use power law model. For more detail use the manual. hope it will be helpful for you.

I have a question. In this case, how what should I set as boundary conditions for the four edges of my porous zone in Gambit and Fluent since apparently I can not set them as porous jump at the same time and I don't think there are interfaces either?
Thanks! |
