Greetings, I am currently trying to validate my Ansys Fluent model which uses Phase Change Material (PCM) with a paper having experimental data. All conditions in the model are given as per the paper. The data is in good agreement till the phase change and after crossing the phase transition the simulation data shoots up while experimental data goes on with a slight increment. What could be the possible reason? that I should look into my model. I am attaching the graph for your understanding.

Can you provide a citation for the paper so I can understand the experimental setup?

The link to the paper is given below:
https://doi.org/10.1016/j.renene.2022.05.152

PS. My model is a 2D axisymmetric with all the boundary conditions taken from the paper.

My first guess, without looking at your setup, would be the latent heat. If the temperature diverges during the phase change it is likely do to this value. Also note that in the paper they use kJ/kg for the latent heat and fluent uses J/kg.

Yeah I already checked the value and converted it to J/kg

Ok good. Without looking at the rest of your set-up its hard to say what is causing the error. The paper does a really good job of outlining all the boundary conditions and solver settings. I would just double check your material properties, solver settings, and boundary conditions and make sure there is no discrepancies.

If you say I can send you the case file to ensure the rest of the conditions.
