Hi Everyone,

1st, I wish you everyone to happy new year.

I want to edit my case settings by editing the case file but it is not possible to open it by right-clicking (it has also the mesh information so it is an unreadable file). So, how can I change my case settings (boundary conditions, solver settings, materials etc) without open the case file on GUI?

Note: I dont want to use .jou file too. So basically I am searching a method like right click to case file and open it with editor (like Notepad++ or VSC).

Thank you for your time.

Have a nice eve!

Guven

Is your case file in ASCII format? If not, read your file using the GUI, then go to the TUI and write file> binary-legacy-files> no. You also need to disable cff format too, using file> cff-files?> no in the TUI. After this you can save your file in .cas and .dat format (without the .h5 extension) in a human readable ASCII format. (for versions newer than 2022 R2)

Perfect, it worked. Thank you.

2nd question; can I seperate the mesh information from case file (to decrease the case file size) ? Like, I imagine, there should be 3 files only before the simulation; .case, .msh and .dat .
