Ansys project schematic error - please HELP

Hi everyone,

I currently have multiple simulations saved on a project schematic. Recently I opened it and under one of the simulations a black x was next to setup, solution and results. Anytime I try do anything with it - even delete - it says “This reference to container Results # is not valid for use with the project”. I can’t clear generated data too.

Can someone please help with this as I have no clue why this happened and how to fix it.

A black x? That is one I have never seen before.

This is why I typically move away from Workbench once I have the model/mesh built and into Fluent stand-alone. There is a way to view the files of the Workbench project if you select View from the pull-down menu and then File (it will put a checkmark next to it). There will be a section on the project page that shows the files. You may be able to find the corresponding files (note they will be labeled C4 or B1 for the corresponding cell in the project page). Then copy these to another directory and see if you can open them.

Workbench is great for many things, but I find for complex CFD analysis standalone is more reliable.

Hi nick,

Ye I’m the same, never seen a black X before. It happened after using a remote desktop when I didn’t have access to my pc. Pretty sure something’s happened during this. I’ll give your advice a shot in the morning.
