I am new in simulating porous medium simulation. My problem is a pressure vessel shown in image is having a porous media. i have modelled according to darchys equation. assume the thickness of the medium is 300mm. I have obtained polynomial fit for the pressure drop according to the porous media. I have calculated viscous dissipation and inertial resistance according to the equation. I had given mass flow inlet condition and out flow as outlet condition, air as medium. I am obtaining higher pressure drop. I have attached the input to porous media conditions in figures. Flow is in Y direction. almost zero velocity in porous media and surroundings. Is my problem is due to direction vector? do I have to give the porous media properties in all the three directions? What is fluid porosity? how to calculate?

Hi
Try activating the 'alternative formulation' option (under inertial resistance) and running the simulation. |
