Water, Salt Water Mixture with no density difference

Hi communities,
I created a simple 2D wave tank with the model of multiphase-VOF (handling air water interface), mixture in Material(Handling the mixing of ocean water and fresf water). The material property of the ocean water is assigned with higher density to be 1027 kg/m^3, and also different viscosity. The initial condition of the model is the tank filled with fresh water initially. And the boundary conidtion is ocean water coming in from the right-hand side. However, even though the Volume Fraction Contour seems to make sense with the mixing effect, the density contour doesn't show any difference in fresh water and ocean water. Does anyone know what could be the reason for this? |

is density model you are using is correct? (do you need ideal gas instead of constant?)

Did you mean the assignment of the density property during the material section? What's the reason for the ideal gas assumption? Currently, the material patched in the lower part of the tank is the mixture of both ocean water and river water instead of any of them only.

Are you setting the scale of the density plot or it is autoscaled? The maximum in the scale is 1000…

I manually controlled the scale of the density plot just to visualize there is no ocean water with a density to be over 1000 (kg/m^3). The last graph is autoscaled density contour.
