Hii i am trying to find the drag force on savonius turbine using 2d transient system. As the turbine is rotating constantly and the projected area is changing what should I put in reference values of area?

Hi Pratik,
The drag force acting on the turbine changes with rotation. If you are using varying projected area you can't compare the coefficient with time. I would suggest you to use planform area to non-dimensionalize the drag force for understanding the dynamics. Thanks. |
